The Art Behind The Garment
Craftsmanship
Every Gasir piece is the result of hundreds of hours of skilled handwork — traditions perfected over centuries, in service of garments built to last a lifetime.
At Gasir Outfits, we work with over 200 master artisans across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and our Mumbai atelier. Each craftsperson is a specialist in their discipline — bringing techniques refined over generations to each piece we create. We pay above fair-trade wages and provide healthcare and education support to artisan families through our Gasir Artisan Programme.
Our Craft Traditions
Zardozi
Lucknow & Delhi
Avg. Time
40–200 hours per piece
The ancient art of metal embroidery, dating back to the Mughal era. Our artisans use fine gold and silver threads to create intricate floral and geometric motifs by hand.
Chikankari
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
Avg. Time
20–80 hours per piece
A delicate form of shadow embroidery that creates white-on-white floral patterns. Each piece is embroidered on fine muslin or silk by skilled artisans, then hand-washed to achieve its characteristic softness.
Block Printing
Jaipur, Rajasthan
Avg. Time
8–24 hours per metre
Using hand-carved wooden blocks dipped in natural vegetable dyes, our artisans print repeat patterns with millimetre precision — a craft passed down through generations of Rajasthani craftsmen.
Precision Tailoring
Mumbai Atelier
Avg. Time
12–36 hours per garment
Our in-house atelier in Mumbai combines traditional pattern-cutting techniques with modern construction to ensure every garment falls perfectly on the body. Each piece undergoes a minimum of three fit checks before approval.
